Hilton Hotels Corporation reported today that Alexander Mirza has been named to the newly-created position of senior vice president of corporate development. Leveraging his significant hospitality industry experience in both the corporate and consulting environments, he will likely be working company-wide on cool product development and partnerships, including food and beverage offerings, health clubs and spas, amongst others. Mirza will be based at the Hilton Hotels Corporation World Headquarters in Beverly Hills and reports straight to Matthew J. Hart, president and chief operating officer.

Before joining Hilton, Mirza had been a senior executive in the travel and transportation practice at Accenture. Before Accenture, Mirza was head of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was in charge of brand positioning, development planning and business innovation. Mirza started his career in the beginning Financial, Inc. and opened the first U.S. office servicing corporate high net-worth clients. His consulting background includes several years of project management knowledge of Deloitte/Braxton Associates in the areas of value-based management, growth strategy and globalization.
Mirza was subsequently a senior principal at Strategos, an innovation consultancy where he dealt with Hotel Management in the luxury hospitality, travel, consumer and asset management industries inside the regions of customer strategy, cool product development and repair innovation. Mirza holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, with a focus on brand marketing and corporate strategy. Also, he holds an M.A. in Economics and a B.A. Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
